An Attitude Of Ingratitude

Ingratitude toward God is sin. An attitude of ingratitude comes from pride. If one believes that he deserves better than he is getting, he is proud. If he believes that he does not deserve the difficulties he has, he is proud. The reality is that what we all deserve is eternity in the Lake of Fire. And whatever difficulties we experience here, they are not the Lake of Fire. The only reason God does not give us the condemnation we deserve is because Jesus has already died the death that we deserve. Therefore God is just in giving us what Jesus deserves, eternal life in Paradise.

Isaiah 53:6: All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.

Romans 3:23: For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

Ezekiel 18:20a: The soul that sinneth, it shall die. . . .

Romans 6:23: For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Romans 5:8: But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

If we know these things, how can we be ungrateful? When bad things happen to me it helps me to remember: This is not Hell. This is better than I deserve. Notice that ingratitude is equal to many great evils and gets the same result as those other evils.

2 Timothy 3:1: This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. 2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, 4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; 5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
